Step-by-step instructions for foreign nationals who wish to fly their drone in the United States
Today’s question is about foreign nationals who wish to fly their drones in the United States. As a foreign national, what is the best and easiest way to get permission to fly your drone in the United States?
Our caller, Paul from Canada has a great question about drone laws for foreign nationals. Because of recent changes to Canadian drone laws, foreign nationals can now fly their drones in Canada after clearing a simple online exam. Paul is wondering if it is as easy for foreign nationals to fly a drone in the United States.
As drone technology becomes more mainstream, more and more foreign nationals are flying their drones in the United States. However, to avoid getting into serious legal trouble, all foreign nationals MUST follow the law of the land.
To answer Paul’s question, we first state Part 107 laws and recreational drone laws for foreign nationals.
Will flying as a commercial drone pilot give you greater access to airspace? Is a drone license from another country valid in the United States? And, are there any special provisions for Canadian and Mexican drone pilots who wish to fly in the United States?
In this show, we reveal step-by-step instructions for foreign nationals who wish to gain permission to fly as a commercial drone pilot in the United States. From registering your drone to getting your foreign aircraft permit, you will learn a lot in a short time by listening to this show. Thanks for the great question, Paul. Fly Safe!
